• Ignition off.
• Disconnect the 2-pin connector under the right-hand seat.
  WARNING:

  Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected non-deployed pyrotechnical airbag. This could deploy the airbag

  CAUTION:

  Do not touch the terminal pins in the SRS control module. There is a risk of static discharge which could damage the SRS control module.

  Check the cable between the SRS control unit #4C(60) and the 2-pin connector #1 for short-circuit to ground according to Short-circuit to ground, permanent faults .

  Check the cable between the SRS control unit #3C (59) and the 2-pin connector #2 for short-circuit to ground according to Short-circuit to ground, permanent faults .

  Other information: 

  • To access / replace the SRS control module and connector, see Supplemental restraint system module (SRS), replacing .
  • To connect the breakout box, see Connecting the breakout box .
  • With the ignition off and the 2-pin connector disconnected, the resistance between the 2-pin connector #1, #2 (SRS control module side) and ground should read infinity.
  • With the ignition off and the 2-pin connector disconnected, the resistance between the 2-pin connector #1 and #2 (SRS control module side) should be approximately 22 kΩ.
