Intermittent fault
- Ignition off.WARNING:
Never use an ohmmeter or any other charged measuring instrument on a disconnected, undeployed explosive inflatable curtain. There is a risk that the inflatable curtain could be deployed
CAUTION:Avoid touching the contact pins in the supplemental restraint system (SRS) control unit. There is a risk of an electrostatic discharge which can cause damage to the supplemental restraint system (SRS) control unit.
Check the supplemental restraint system (SRS) control unit connector and the inflatable curtain connector for contact resistance and oxidation as described in Contact resistance and oxidation and for a loose contact as described in Loose connections (terminals) .
Check the wire terminals in both the connector housing and the pins. The wire terminals must not be damaged or bent.
Check the wire between the supplemental restraint system (SRS) control unit 21A (21), 22A (22) and connector 1, 3 on the left inflatable curtain for an intermittent open circuit as described in Open-circuit, intermittent faults .
HINT: Checking the built-in capacitor in the igniter connector by ohm measurement.
HINT: With ignition off, connect the measuring instrument test pins between connector 1 and 3 on the side air bag. The resistance should increase very rapidly and remain at infinity.
HINT: Change the position of the ohmmeter positive and negative test pins and connect them as in the previous measurement. The resistance should decrease very rapidly to approximately 0 and then increase and remain at infinity.
Do the necessary corrective action.

- With ignition off and with the inflatable curtain connector disconnected the resistance between the inflatable curtain connector 1 and 3 (to supplemental restraint system (SRS)) should be approximately 22 kΩ
