Checking components and wiring

• Ignition off
• Disconnect special tool 9511506 from the connector for the left-hand inflatable curtain.
  WARNING:

  Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instruments to take readings on a disconnected, non-deployed, pyrotechnical inflatable curtain. This could deploy the inflatable curtain

  CAUTION:

  Do not touch the terminal pins in the SRS control module. There is a risk of static discharge. This could damage the SRS control module.

  Check the cable between SRS control module terminals #21A (21) and #22A (22) and connector terminals #1 and #3 on the left-hand inflatable curtain for a short-circuit to ground according to Short-circuit to ground, permanent faults .

  Remedy as necessary.

  • To connect the breakout box, see Connecting the breakout box
  • With the ignition off and the connectors for the left-hand inflatable curtain and for the SRS control module disconnected, the resistance between the inflatable curtain connector terminals #1 and #3 (SRS control module side) and ground should be infinite
