Checking components and wiring
- Ignition off
- Disconnect the 2-pin connector under the left-hand seat.WARNING:
Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected, non-deployed, pyrotechnical airbag. This could deploy the airbag
CAUTION:Do not touch the terminal pins in the SRS control module. There is a risk of static discharge. This could damage the SRS control module.
Check the female and male parts of the connector for the SRS control module and the 2-pin connector. The cable terminals must not be damaged or pressed back.
Check the cable between the SRS control module terminal #4A (4) and the 2-pin connector terminal #1 on the left-hand side impact protection (SIPS) bag for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults .
Check the cable between the SRS control module terminal #3A (3) and the 2-pin connector terminal #2 on the left-hand side impact protection (SIPS) bag for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults .
Remedy as necessary.
