Intermittent fault
- Ignition off.WARNING:
Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected, non-deployed, pyrotechnical airbag. This could deploy the airbag
CAUTION:Do not touch the terminal pins in the SRS control module. There is a risk of static discharge. This could damage the SRS control module.
Check the connectors for:
- 2-pin
- the SRS control module.
check for contact resistance and oxidation. See Contact resistance and oxidation . Check for loose connections. See Loose connections (terminals) .
Check the female and male sections of the connector for the SRS control module and the 2-pin connector. The cable terminals must not be damaged or pressed back.
Check the cable between the SRS control module terminal #4A (4) and the 2-pin connector terminal #1 for an intermittent open-circuit according to Open-circuit, intermittent faults .
Check the cable between the SRS control module terminal #3A (3) and the 2-pin connector terminal #2 for an intermittent open-circuit according to Open-circuit, intermittent faults .
Remedy as necessary.

- With the ignition off and the 2-pin connector disconnected, the resistance between terminals #1 and #2 on the 2-pin connector (SRS control module side) should be approximately 22 kΩ.
