Checking wires
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the 2 pin connector under the left seat.WARNING:
Never use an ohmmeter or any other charged measuring instrument on a disconnected, undeployed explosive air bag. There is a risk that the air bag could be deployed
CAUTION:Avoid touching the contact pins in the supplemental restraint system (SRS) control unit. There is a risk of an electrostatic discharge which can cause damage to the supplemental restraint system (SRS) control unit.
Check the wire between the supplemental restraint system (SRS) control unit 4A (4) and the 2 pin connector 1 for a short circuit to ground, as described in Short-circuit to ground, permanent faults .
Check the wire between the supplemental restraint system control unit 3A (3) and the 2 pin connector 2 for a short circuit to ground as described in Short-circuit to ground, permanent faults .

- With ignition off and the 2 pin connector disconnected, the resistance between the 2 pin connector 1, 2 (to the supplemental restraint system (SRS) control unit) and ground should be infinite.
- With ignition off and the 2 pin connector disconnected, resistance between the 2 pin connector 1 and 2 (to the supplemental restraint system (SRS) control unit) should be approximately 22 k).
