Checking the engine cooling fan (FC)

NOTE:

The electric cooling fan may have a post-running time of up to approx. 6 minutes after the engine has been shut off. The time for the electric cooling fan's post-running depends on the engine's temperature, temperature in the engine compartment as well as the pressure level in the AC system.

Ignition on.
Activate the engine cooling fan (FC) by clicking the VCT2000 symbol.

If the electric cooling fan can be activated in all selectable speeds:

There is no malfunction in the electric cooling fan.
Check the engine temperature sensor.
Check the AC pressure sensor.

Remedy as necessary.

Other information:

The electric cooling fan can be activated at different speeds. Possible speeds for the electric cooling fan is dependent on model year and engine.

Is the engine cooling fan (FC) working?

YES
OKAY: Troubleshooting has been completed.
NO
