Checking the status

• Start the engine and run it to normal operating temperature
• Read off and note the adaptation value for the camshaft at idle speed. The value must be between -8° and +8°.

  If the adaptation value is correct (between -8° and +8°) the fault is intermittent. If the adaptation value is incorrect (lower than -8° or higher than +8°), the fault is permanent.

Is the adaptation value correct? 

• YES 

  Refer to Intermittent fault 

• NO
