Checking wiring and connectors
Check the knock sensor (KS) connector. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. Check for loose connections.
Check the signal cable between knock sensor (KS) terminal #3 and control module terminal #A45 (#A45). Check the ground lead between knock sensor (KS) terminal #4 and control module terminal #A67 (#B7). Check for an intermittent open-circuit. Check for an intermittent short-circuit to ground.
Check that the knock sensor (KS) is tightened to the correct torque.
