If there is an open-circuit or short-circuit to ground in the ignition coil primary winding circuit and engine speed (RPM) exceeds 1500 RPM, the control module interprets it as a fault and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-33X0 is stored.

Signal too high:

short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable

Signal too low:

short-circuit to ground in the signal cable

Signal missing:

open-circuit in the signal cable
contact resistance in terminals.
