Aligning The Crankshaft

Remove 

• the mounting screws for the starter motor. Pull out the starter motor and place to one side.
• the blind cover plug.

Turn the crankshaft clockwise  slightly.

Install the crankshaft stop 9995451 . Ensure that it bottoms out against the engine block.

Turn the crankshaft counter-clockwise  until it stops against the crankshaft stop.

Check that the marking on the crankshaft timing belt pulley aligns with the marking on the oil pump.
