Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition 

The upper electronic module communicates with the rain sensor. If diagnostic trouble code (DTC) UEM-0081 or UEM-0082 is stored diagnostic trouble code (DTC) UEM-0080 is not stored. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) UEM-0080 is stored if the rain sensor does not respond to the upper electrical module. Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) UEM-0080 can be diagnosed 2 seconds after ignition on.

Substitute Value 

• Intermittent windshield wipers
• High speed windshield wipers.

Possible Source 

• Open-circuit in the power supply cable for the rain sensor
• Short-circuit to ground in the power supply cable for the rain sensor
• Open-circuit in the data cable for the rain sensor
• Short-circuit to supply voltage in the data cable for the rain sensor
• Short-circuit to ground in the data cable for the rain sensor
• Open-circuit in the ground lead for the rain sensor
• Short-circuit to supply voltage in the ground lead for the rain sensor
• Contact fault on the sensor side and/or control module side
• Defective rain sensor
• Defective control module.

Fault symptom[s] 

• No rain sensor function.
