Checking the power supply and ground for the power seat module (PSM)

Check the fuse for the power seat module (PSM) in the passenger compartment fusebox. Check the cable between the power seat and the passenger compartment fuse. Check for an open-circuit. If the fuse is blown, also fault-trace for a short-circuit to ground.

Check the passenger compartment fuse for the supply relay for the power seat module (PSM). The relay is on the central electronic module (CEM). Check the cable between the supply relay for the power seat module (PSM) and the passenger compartment fuse. Check for an open-circuit. Fault-trace if the fuse has blown. Check for a short-circuit to ground.

If necessary, check that the supply relay is not defective by trying it in another location.

Check the cable between the supply relay and the power seat module (PSM). Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for an open-circuit. Also check the ground terminals for the power seat module (PSM).

Check the connector on the power seat module (PSM). Check for contact resistance and oxidation. Check for damage.

Remedy as necessary.
