Removing the battery

NOTE: To determine whether or not the battery is working, the performance of the battery must be checked in accordance with: Fault-tracing and testing the battery (if not performed earlier).

Fold up the floor hatch

Remove:

the nut (1) which attaches the mounting to the floor and undo the nut holding the mounting to the rear crossmember
the mounting.

Bend up the terminal cover (3).

Pull the drain hose off the side of the battery

Remove:

the battery cables from the battery terminals
the screw and the bracket.

Lift out the battery.
