Condition

Only occurs at extremely high outdoor temperatures. Occurs at speeds around 15-40 km/h, with low to medium loads and when turning (for example, turning a street corner).

Possible Source 

• The front bearing for the outer ring in the viscous unit is loose and rotates.

Fault symptom[s] 

• Scraping noise from the viscous coupling.
