Checking the bevel gear

Check:

• the tire dimensions
• the bevel gear externally if there is heavy leakage
• if there is loud noise from the bevel gear
• radial play in the output shaft. There must not be any play in the shaft.

Remedy by replacing the bevel gear and/or the tires if they are not the recommended specification.

Check the crown wheel mounting as follows:

• Reverse the car at full lock
• Check for any loud banging noises.

Remedy by replacing the bevel gear.
