Checking the all-wheel drive (AWD) system
- Check the function of the viscous coupling.
- Check the coupling sleeve between the transmission and the bevel gear
- Check that the power take off (PTO) on the differential is intact.
- Check that the propeller shaft rotates
- Check the coupling sleeve between the transmission and the bevel gear
- Check that the power take off (PTO) on the differential is intact.
- Check the tire dimensions
- Check the coupling sleeve between the transmission and the bevel gear
- Check that the power take off (PTO) on the differential is intact.
- Remove the bevel gear
- Check the coupling sleeve between the transmission and the bevel gear
- Check that the power take off (PTO) on the differential is intact.
Check:
- that the bevel gear output shaft rotates. Turn the input shaft
- for leakage from the viscous coupling. Black silicon oil, similar to underseal
- that the entire viscous coupling rotates
- that the rear drive shafts rotate
- that the rear wheels rotate.
Remedy by replacing the faulty component.
CAUTION:
If the bevel gear is replaced because the output shaft does not rotate when the input shaft is rotated, freewheeling must be checked. The freewheel engagement and release mechanism can seize as a result of this. Check the mechanism. Replace the viscous coupling if necessary.
