Checking for oil leakage, bevel gear
CAUTION:
In the event of oil leaking from the bleed nipple, it is important to first check the dimensions of the tires on the car. Then check the oil level. If there is too much oil, drain the excess. Test drive and check again. If the tire dimensions and the oil level OK, install the valve and change the oil.
Check:
- the tire dimensions.
- the oil level in the bevel gear. Adjust if necessary
- the bleed nipple
- the mating flange
- the pinion seal
- the seals on the right-hand drive shaft
- any oil leakage from the transmission.
In the event of any leakage from the mating flange the bevel gear must be replaced.
Remedy by replacing the faulty seal.
