Checking wiring and terminals
- Ignition off.
Check the connector for the control module for four wheel drive (Active on Demand Coupling). Check for damaged or bent terminal pins. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.
Check the wiring for CAN communication between terminal #7 on the control module for four wheel drive (Active on Demand Coupling) and brake control module (BCM) terminal #11 (#A11) and between terminal #8 on the control module for four wheel drive (Active on Demand Coupling) and brake control module (BCM) terminal #15 (#A15). Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Also check if the wiring for CAN communication is too close to a source of interference such as a car phone etc.
Remedy as necessary.
