Checking wiring
- Ignition off, wait for 15 seconds.
- Disconnect the connector from the left-hand inflatable curtain.
- Disconnect the connector for Supplemental restraint system module (SRS).WARNING:
Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected, non-deployed, pyrotechnical inflatable curtain. This could deploy the inflatable curtain
Check connectors for damage to pins and connections.
Check the connectors. Check for loose connections. Check for contact resistance. Check for oxidation.
Also check other connectors and terminals that connect the wiring between the Supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the inflatable curtain.
Check the cable. Check for loose connections. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Take readings between:
- Supplemental restraint system module (SRS) terminal #21A/21 (21) and connector to inflatable curtain, left, terminal #1.
- Supplemental restraint system module (SRS) terminal #22A/22 (22) and connector to inflatable curtain, left, front, terminal #3.
Remedy as necessary.
