Checking component
- Ignition off
- Disconnect the 3-pin connector from the right front seat belt buckle
- Disconnect the connector from the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS).
HINT: The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is not stored until the fault has been present continuously for at least 3 minutes
Check the female and male parts of the connectors for the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) and the seat belt buckle. The cable terminals must not be damaged, pressed back or oxidized.
Check the cable between the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) terminal #26C (22) and the seat belt buckle #54/25:5 right front. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for an open-circuit.
Check the resistance in the signal cable between the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) terminal #26C (22) and seat belt buckle #54/25:4 right front. The resistance must be infinite.
HINT: If the signal cable between the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) and the seat belt buckle connector is OK, the seat belt buckle may be damaged. Check the signal cable between the seat belt buckle connector and the seat belt buckle. The signal cable must not be damaged. Check that nothing has become jammed in the seat belt buckle.
If the fault is permanent and no fault is found, replace the seat belt buckle.
Remedy as necessary.
