Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information SRS-00E5

Condition 

The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) checks the signal from the upper electronic module (UEM) on the CAN network.

The diagnostic trouble code is stored if the control module detects:

• Malfunction message regarding PAD-light.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed in ignition positions I, II or III.

Substitute Value 

• None.

Possible Source 

• Damaged LED in the rear view mirror.
• Open-circuit in the power supply.
• Damaged supplemental restraint system module (SRS).

Fault symptom[s] 

• The PAD (passenger airbag disconnected) lamp does not light
• The SRS indicator lamp is lit.
