Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information SRS-00DD

Condition 

The Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) checks the signal in the control area network (CAN) bus.

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-00DD is stored if the SRS control module does not receive a control area network (CAN) signal "number of seats" in the car from the central electronic module (CEM).

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can only be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on (12 V). In other words, the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can only be diagnosed when the ignition is switched from position 0 to positions I, II or III.

Possible Source 

• Open-circuit in the Controller area network (CAN) cable
• Defective central electronic module (CEM).

Fault symptom[s] 

• The SRS indicator lamp is lit.
