• Switch on the ignition. Wait 20 seconds.

  Read off the "seat configuration" parameter from the central electronic module (CEM) and the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) by clicking on the VCT2000 symbol.

  If the parameter value which is shown in the two columns is not the same in the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) as for the central electronic module (CEM), the "seat configuration" parameter value in the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) must be reprogrammed.

  If the value is not the same in the central electronic module (CEM) as in the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS), carry out the following:

  • If the central electronic module (CEM) shows 7 seats, press the button with the figure 7
  • If the central electronic module (CEM) shows 5 seats, press the button with the figure 5.

  This reprograms the "seat configuration" parameter value to the same number of seats as entered in the central electronic module (CEM).

  CAUTION:

  This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can also cause diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) to be stored for the rear inflatable curtains and the seat belt tensioners in the 3rd row of seats. Remedy diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-00DC before continuing with the fault-tracing.

Did the parameter value change? 

• YES 

  Refer to Verification 

• NO 

  OKAY:  Troubleshooting has been completed.
