The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) checks the signal from the occupant weight sensor (OWS).

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers a configuration fault in the signal cable for longer than 10 seconds.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can only be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on (12 V). In other words, the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can only be diagnosed when the ignition is switched from position 0 to positions I, II or III.

• None.

Possible Source 

• The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) identifies that an occupant weight sensor (OWS) is installed, despite the control module being programmed that an occupant weight sensor (OWS) is not installed.

Fault symptom[s] 

• SRS indicator lamp lit
• PAD lamp lit.
