Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)
If a fault occurs a Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored at every diagnostic check carried out automatically by the audio module (AUM), phone module (PHM) or RTI (or activated by VIDA). Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are defined in the respective control modules. There are diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for all the system components.
There are a total of 36 diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) depending on which components the system contains:
| Component | Number of DTCs | Component | Number of DTCs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Antennae | 4 | Separate CD player | 4 |
| Integrated CD | 5 | Separate amplifier | 5 |
| Integrated CD changer | 6 | Head unit | 6 |
| MD | 5 | CAN communication | 5 |
| Cassette deck | 2 |
There are 32 diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for the phone module (PHM).
There are 8 diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for the RTI. Fault in the TV receiver does not cause a diagnostic trouble code (DTC).
