The brake pads are measured in place in the brake caliper.

The illustrations show where to measure the thickness of the pad.

NOTE:

The brake pad's backing plate is not included in the dimensions.

Example at 20, 000 km service interval

The wear is given in mm on the brake pad for the next service interval. NOTE: 2 mm (replacement limit) must be added to all dimensions.
S60/V70/XC70	=	4 mm + 2 mm
S60 R/V70 R	=	3 mm + 2 mm
S80 (-06)	=	4 mm + 2 mm
XC90	=	6 mm + 2 mm

Example at 30, 000 km service interval
