Checking Component And Wiring
The diagnostic trouble code indicates that communication between central electronic module and Siren control module (SCM) (optional equipment) or Remote Receiver Module (RRX) is not working. This may be due to a fault in the signal cable between the control modules or a defective communication device in one or all of the control modules.
Check the signal cable between the central electronic module (CEM) and the Siren control module (SCM). Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Take readings between:
- Central electronic module (CEM) terminal #G1 (#1) and siren (SCM) terminal #2.
Check the cable between the central electronic module (CEM) and the Remote Receiver Module (RRX). Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Remedy as necessary.
