Checking Component And Wiring

Check that relay 2/82 is correctly installed.

Also check the relay terminal, in particular 2/82 terminal #2. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground.

It is not possible to deactivate the tailgate wiper if there is a short-circuit to ground in terminal 2/82#2.

HINT: The fault may have been caused by an open-circuit in the supply to the relay. The voltage must be 12 V at both terminals #1 and #3 for the relay. Also check the fuse for the rear windshield defroster. 

Remedy as necessary.
