Checking the Vacuum Control Valve

Start the engine

See below, checking the control valve

Vacuum under 45 kPa Pump running System OK
Vacuum under 45 kPa Pump not running Replace control valve
Vacuum over 60 kPa Pump stops System OK
Vacuum over 60 kPa Pump does not stop Replace control valve
Vacuum does not go over 60 kPa Pump does not stop Check for leakage of the line, pump - valve or Checking the Vacuum Pump 

Turn off the engine

Fit the vacuum line to the induction pipe.
