Removing The Front Bumper Rail

The bumper rail is secured to the side members using four screws and two plug welds on each side. The plug welds are in metal washers pressed into the aluminum member.

Check that the general dimensions of the car are correct. See SIDE MEMBERS / WHEEL ARCHES FRONT, ALIGNMENT CHART .

Remove: 

• the components. See FRONT SECTION, EXPOSING .
• the 4 screws.

Drill out the spot welds.

Grind clean.

Apply welding primer.
