Replacing The Component
- Switch off the ignition. Wait 10 secondsCAUTION:
Avoid touching the terminal pins in the occupant weight sensor (OWS). There is a risk of static discharge which could damage the occupant weight sensor (OWS).
If this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is generated after unsuccessful calibration of the occupant weight sensor (OWS):
- Recalibrate the occupant weight sensor (OWS).
If the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) was set at another point:
- Replace the pressure sensor and the occupant weight sensor (OWS) module. The pressure sensor and occupant weight sensor (OWS) module are included in the occupant weight sensor (OWS) system.
NOTE:After replacing the pressure sensor and the occupant weight sensor (OWS) module in the occupant weight sensor (OWS) system, the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) must be configured. This is done by storing the ID number for the occupant weight sensor (OWS).
The occupant weight sensor (OWS) must also be calibrated.
