Condition

The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) checks the signal from the switch for the passenger airbag.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module receives a signal to deactivate the passenger airbag.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed in ignition positions I, II and III.

Substitute Value 

• Passenger airbag is deactivated.

Possible Source 

• The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) receives a signal from the switch requesting deactivation of the passenger airbag, even though the control module is programmed that there is no switch for the passenger airbag installed.

Fault symptom[s] 

• SRS indicator lamp lit
• PAD lamp lit.
