Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Condition
There is a potentiometer in the damper motor for the air distribution which updates the control module with information on the current damper position. If the control module registers that the signal from the potentiometer exceeds 4.7 V diagnostic trouble code (DTC) 2-3-1 is stored.
Substitute Value
The damper motor cannot be activated as long as the fault exists.
Possible Source
- Open-circuit in signal cable or ground lead.
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable.
- There is a short-circuit to supply voltage in the potentiometer supply.
- Contact resistance in terminals.
- Defective damper motor.
Fault symptom[s]
- The REC button orange indicator LED flashes once when the ignition is turned on.
