Communication Problems

Communication has been interrupted for one of the following reasons:

• The cable is disconnected
• The Volvo Scan Tool (ST) is disconnected
• Communication problems in the VIDA application

• Check that the adapter is correctly connected to the Volvo Scan Tool (ST).
• Check that the VIDA cable is correctly connected to the adapter junction box and VIDA cart.
• Check that the power cable is correctly connected to the battery and Volvo Scan Tool (ST).
• Ensure that VIDA memory cassette is inserted into the Volvo Scan Tool (ST).
• Check that the junction box switch is on.
• Try to establish communication again or exit reading off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

Depending on the communication fault, select one of the following alternatives.

1. Try again. Refer to Reading Off Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) Electronic Climate Control (ECC) .
2. Fault-trace the communication problems. Refer to Checking Communication With ECC Control Module .
3. Stop fault-tracing.

Communication has been interrupted for one of the following reasons:

• The cable is disconnected
• Ignition off

The fault could also have been stored by a communication problem when the engine was started.

• Check that the data link connector (DLC) cable is secure.
• Try to establish communication again or exit reading off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

Depending on the communication fault, select one of the following alternatives.

1. Try again. Refer to Reading Off Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) Electronic Climate Control (ECC) .
2. Fault-trace the communication problems. Refer to Checking Communication With ECC Control Module .
3. Stop fault-tracing.
