Checking D+ Signal From Generator (GEN): Notes

Ignition on.
Read off status of D+ signal from generator (GEN). Make a note of the status.
Start engine.
Read off status of D+ signal from generator (GEN).
With ignition on the status should be OFF and with engine at idling speed (generator (GEN) charging) the status should be ON.

NOTE: If the charging system is malfunctioning then carry out fault-tracing on the charging system first.

Check the status reading is correct.

Is the D+ signal OK?

YES
FAULT NOT FOUND: Troubleshooting has been completed.
NO
