Checking Equipment And Software

To correctly carry out programming the ignition must be ON, the programming equipment must be connected and the correct software loaded for programming.

Check that ignition is ON.

Check ECC control module power supply to #B5 and to ground terminal #A23 for an open-circuit according to Open-Circuit, Permanent Faults .

Check that programming equipment is correctly connected.

Check that the new software that is to be loaded is the correct version/revision.

Remedy as necessary.

Erase diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) before starting programming.
