Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Condition

The engine coolant temperature (ECT) signal from the engine control module (ECM) is a pulsed signal, the frequency of which changes with temperature. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECC-135 is stored if the control module detects that the pulses from the engine control module (ECM) are missing for more than approximately 6 seconds when the engine is running.

Substitute Value

The control module adopts a substitute value corresponding to 87.5°C.

Possible Source

Short-circuit to supply voltage or ground in the signal cable.
Open-circuit in signal cable.
Contact resistance in terminals.
Defective engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor.

Fault symptom[s]

The orange indicator LED in the REC and air conditioning (A/C) buttons flashes for approximately 20 seconds.
