IMM-336 VGLA control circuit

Two seconds after ignition the immobilizer control module checks that the connection to the VGLA control module is fault free. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) IMM-336 is stored if the control module detects a fault.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is erased when the counter value is one.

Information

Certain cars have a LED in the center of the dashboard. With the ignition on it flashes rapidly (4 Hz) for 15 seconds if there is any fault in the communication between the immobilizer control module and VGLA control module. However this is dependent on the VGLA control module having detected the fault five times in succession - in other words five times in a row that the ignition is switched on.

Possible Source

Short circuit to ground in the cable between immobilizer control module #7 and VGLA control module #B9. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) GLA-454 can be stored in the VGLA system with this fault.
Short-circuit to supply voltage in cable between immobilizer control module #7 and VGLA control module #B9.

Fault symptom[s]

Indicator LED flashes when the ignition is switched on.
Other fault types and VGLA settings have no fault symptoms.
