IMM-213 Communication with control module
Condition
The immobilizer control module checks the communication between engine control module (ECM) and immobilizer in the first two seconds after ignition. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) IMM-213 is stored if the immobilizer control module contains the wrong data.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is erased when the counter value reaches 254.
Possible Source
- EMC interference (strong electrical fields) during the communication phase (at start) between immobilizer control module and engine control module (ECM).
- Potential difference of more than 0.4 V between ground terminals for immobilizer control module and engine control module (ECM).
Fault symptom[s]
- Engine starts but stops immediately.
