Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition

The function that allows the trunk lid to be opened by electronic control from the external handle is only available on the S70. The V70 does however have wiring connected to #A7.

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) GLA-523 is stored if the control module registers that the signal for opening the trunk lid from the external handle is less than 1.5 V for 10 seconds when the ignition is on.

Substitute Value

None.

Possible Source

The control switch for the external handle is sticking or caught.
Short-circuit to ground in the signal cable for opening from the handle control switch.

NOTE:

A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) may be stored if the exterior handle for the trunk lid is held in the opening position for at least 10 seconds. Fault causes of this type are not included in the fault-tracing procedure.

Fault symptom[s]

When the fault occurs the trunk lid opens and remains unlocked. Apart from this the central locking system works normally.
