Checking the signal cable

Ignition off.
Disconnect connector from EVAP canister shut-off valve.
Ignition on.
Connect an electrician's screwdriver (3 W bulb at least) between EVAP canister shut-off valve connector terminal 2 and ground.

The electrician's screwdriver should not light.
