Replacing An SRS Ignition Cable For A Deployed Passenger Module

CAUTION: If the airbag module has been activated, the SRS ignition cable should also be replaced. The SRS ignition cable igniter connector may be damaged by the heat generated by deployment.

If replacing a non deployed passenger module

During routine service for example, the SRS ignition cable need not be replaced.
Continue on next step below.

If replacing a deployed passenger module

After a collision for example, the SRS ignition cable must be replaced as follows.
Disconnect the 2 pin connector 24/33 on the passenger module SRS ignition cable.
Cut off cable grips.
Remove SRS ignition cable.
Install new SRS ignition cable.
Connect the 2 pin connector 24/33 on the passenger module SRS ignition cable.
Replace cable grips.
