Installing Passenger Module In Cover

WARNING: Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected non deployed airbag module. This could deploy the airbag.

Ensure that the two retaining bands are folded into the cover so that they are not trapped when the passenger module is being installed. A small piece of double sided tape can be used between the retaining band an the cover. Install a piece of tape if there is not one there.

CAUTION: When installing, the retaining band must not be trapped between the passenger module and the edge.

Install passenger module in the cover.
Install screws (8 x Torx 25) and nuts (6 x 8 mm). Module nut tightening torque = 6 Nm (4.5 ft. lbs.). Module screw tightening torque = 3 Nm (2.2 ft. lbs.).

CAUTION: Always use new screws and nuts when installing the module.

Tightening order

Follow the tightening order shown. First tighten the screws and then the nuts.
