SIPS Bag Detonated Or Service Replacement: Preparations

WARNING: The SIPS bag must not be repaired. The SIPS bag is always replaced as a complete unit, consisting of sensor unit, igniter cable and cushion module.

NOTE: When replacing the upholstery on the backrest, use Volvo original seat upholstery or seat upholstery for SIPS bag approved by Volvo.

If the SIPS bag has not detonated

First secure the SIPS bag

Fold up the seat compartment. Lift up the front edge and press the compartment backward.
Remove the transport lock from the holder on the inside of the seat compartment.
Install the transport lock on the sensor unit.
