Replacing Center Console Panel: Preparations

Disconnect the battery lead. See Battery, Disconnecting .

NOTE: For information about airbags, see Handling Replaced SRS Airbags/Seat Belt Tensioners .
WARNING: Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected non-deployed SRS airbag or seat belt tensioner. There is a risk that they might deploy.
WARNING: SRS airbag modules or seat belt tensioners must never be taken apart, repaired or transferred to another vehicle.
