Breakout box connection 

HINT: The breakout box can be connected to the control module, CD player and TMC/FM receiver. 

• Ignition off
• Release the control module following Replacing the control module, old system .
• Release the CD player following Replacing, CD-ROM player .
• Release the TMC receiver following Replacing TMC receiver .
• Release the FM receiver following Replacing the FM receiver .
• Release the screen following Replacing the display .
• Disconnect the module.
• Check the module connectors to ensure that the male and female pins are whole and properly seated (cannot be pressed in). Check that the cables to the female pins are properly connected on the pins.
• Especially check the pins that relate to the diagnostic trouble code/symptom; see Signal specification Road Traffic Information (RTI) .

Connect adapter 9813194 to the module connectors (toward the wiring) and connect breakout box 9813190 to the adapter.

Control module  connections #A1-#A30 correspond to #1-#30 on the breakout box and #B1-#B16 correspond to #31-#46 on the breakout box.

CD player  connections #1-#16 correspond to #31-#46 on the breakout box.

TMC/FM receiver  connections #1-#10 correspond to #47-#56 on the breakout box.

The breakout box is designed to make it easier to read control module output and input signals when the module is connected and the resistance of the cables and components when the module is disconnected. Using the breakout box reduces the risk of unintentionally short-circuiting cables or damaging connector pins.
