Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor

Drain off the coolant.
Remove the thermostat housing (2 TORX40-screws).
Separate the connector.
Release the terminal pins from connector (see the illustration) in order to thread the wiring through a ring spanner.
Remove and replace the temperature sensor.
Test the sensor according to the method in the Service Information: Ignition-and fuel injection system.
Assemble in reverse order
NOTE:
Do not forget to top up the coolant, and to run the engine to normal operating temperature and check the level.
