Checking control module connector

- Ignition off.
- Camshaft position (CMP) sensor disconnected.
- Check control module connector for contact resistance and oxidation and remedy according to Contact resistance and oxidation
- Control module connected.
Connect an ohmmeter between the camshaft position (CMP) sensor connector terminal 1 (engine control module (ECM) side) and ground.
The ohmmeter should read approximately 0 Ω.

- NOT OK
Refer to Checking for an open-circuit
- Ignition off.
- Camshaft position (CMP) sensor disconnected.
- Check control module connector for contact resistance and oxidation and remedy according to Contact resistance and oxidation
- Control module connected.
- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter between camshaft position (CMP) sensor terminal 3 (engine control module (ECM) side) and ground.
The voltmeter should read battery voltage.
- OK

- Ignition off.
- Camshaft position (CMP) sensor disconnected.
- Check control module connector for contact resistance and oxidation and remedy according to Contact resistance and oxidation
- Control module connected.
Connect an ohmmeter between the camshaft position (CMP) sensor connector terminal 2 (engine control module (ECM) side) and ground.
The ohmmeter should read 0.5 - 3.0 kΩ.
