Removing fuel rail

Remove:

Vacuum hose from pressure regulator.
Screws holding fuel rail. Lift fuel rail with injectors attached.

New connection for model year 1995

The delivery line connector is inserted into the fuel rail and sealed with an O ring. The delivery line is locked into place on the fuel rail by turning the fuel rail approximately 90° in relation to the delivery line. This causes a metal tongue on the connector to lock in a groove on the fuel rail.

NOTE:

Handle injectors carefully to avoid damage to nozzles and needles.

NOTE:

Keep all rubber damping elements located on the intake manifold.

Remove clamp from injector to be replaced.

Place paper under injector to soak up fuel spillage.
Ensure that spacer is located in fuel rail O-ring seat.
Replace injector. Lubricate O-ring of new component with petroleum jelly.
